Use the best identifier available. Common names can produce several matches, and a wrong match can create a false release conclusion. Louisiana's official description allows searches by location, name, and ID or case number. DPS&C does not publish one fixed, exhaustive list of result-card fields. Record only what the live result supplies. Louisiana's telephone locator has a related but separate role. Register Allen Parish Release Alerts

Ask whether the event was a release or a transfer and what public destination field can be confirmed.
If LAVNS shows community supervision after a state prison exit, preserve that exact status. The person is released for physical-custody purposes but may not be discharged. Call the DPS&C locator for the assigned district. Allen Parish is served by Ville Platte, but the actual assignment follows the person's supervision address and case.
For FCI Oakdale I or II, use the BOP Inmate Locator. A BOP released result establishes only that BOP no longer holds the person. For a plausible immigration transfer, use ICE ODLS. Resolve Allen Parish Status Conflicts

Use the record owner to settle the question. APSO owns the parish-jail release event. DPS&C owns state custody and sentence calculations. The parole authority owns its hearing result. BOP owns BOP status, and ICE owns immigration custody status. Record the check time because these systems do not update in unison.
If two people share a name, do not merge their records to fill gaps. Compare the booking or offender ID, reporting agency, booking date, and any other reliable live field. When a match remains uncertain, call the custodian with the least sensitive identifiers needed. The goal is to verify the source record, not to force a result from a broad name search.
A saved alert also needs upkeep. Contact details can expire, messages can be filtered, and a transfer can change which agency supplies the next event.
